When I first arrived at Donut Star, I noticed the staff was a diverse family running the business. I also noticed when I talked to the business owner, he specifically told me he has his own food supplier. Donut Star is very popular in the Fruitvale area because people told me they sell the best coffee drinks. My favorite part of donut star is when I order the coffee tea latte boba drink which was only $3.50.
Just stop here for food recently, and surprisingly I had a really good experience. For 10 buc I got a 3 item combo with chow mien, there was enough food for 2 people. I saw fried rib and right away I just have to get it, it was good, moise on the inside, crispy on the outside, could use more salt and some jalapeno though. The mix veggie with gravy was good, nothing more to say about it. The bbq pork, this one I really like, it was tender, semi sweet, and pretty good. The chow mien is a favorite too. Affordable price for a huge portion of good food, this could be my regular spot.
